Emergency Protective Order

(EPO) ORS 133.035

In situations where a domestic disturbance has taken place (and the incident meets the criteria for a mandatory arrest by a police officer) or a person is in immediate danger of abuse by a family or household member, a person may be eligible for a police officer to apply for an Emergency Protective Order on their behalf.

A person must consent to the application for the Emergency Protective Order.

If granted by a judge, Emergency Protective Orders expire seven calendar days from the date the order is signed.
