About the Administrative Bureau
The Beaverton Police Department's Administrative Bureau is led by Captain Paul Wandell. The Bureau employs 29 sworn and non-sworn personnel assigned throughout the Crime Analysis Division, Training and Professional Standards Division and Records Division. The Bureau also oversees budgeting, payroll and purchasing, accreditation, grant management, and the department’s alarms program.
The Professional Standards Division conducts an average of about 100 Professional Standards Reviews yearly, which includes community complaints, use-of-force reviews, and other administrative reviews.
The Records Division processes all citations (traffic, criminal, and parking) and related reports, which often includes the transcription of tapes for officers and detectives. The mission of the Training Division is to provide department members with the highest quality, relevant training, conducted in a safe, professional environment in accordance with state certification mandates, department goals, and best practices. The Training Division provides a yearly average of nearly 30,000 hours of training to department personnel.
