Community Service Officers
The department employs uniformed community service officers (CSOs) for purposes of transporting prisoners from the county jails to Beaverton Municipal Court, providing security within the court, and enforcing parking regulations throughout the City.
While prisoner transports account for more than half of the CSOs' time, enforcement of parking violations and other infractions makes them highly visible within the community and instrumental in helping to solve parking related issues. This ability to provide a supplemental police presence makes the CSOs an accessible and valuable resource to the agency in the way of community oriented policing and problem solving.
