Crime Maps Online: Terms of Service
Crime Maps Online is an easy to use Web-based system that simplifies the mapping and tracking of crimes reported to the Beaverton Police Department. The Crime Maps Online database contains reports entered since January, 2003. Crime reports are not entered into the system immediately, however, and it may take up to three months before some reports appear here. Crime Maps Online should be viewed as a supplement to other sources of information on this Web site, not a replacement.
By providing on-line tools that help citizens identify and track neighborhood crime, the community and the police can work together to develop effective crime prevention and problem solving strategies. These strategies can be targeted on problems before they develop into more serious situations that require additional police resources or that negatively influence livability in Beaverton neighborhoods.
Definitions of crime categories are provided from the help menu on the search page. Sex crimes are not located on the map, but are noted in the tabular summaries.
To use Crime Maps Online you must first read and acknowledge the City’s Disclaimer as to information the City publishes on the Internet.
