Home Security Program
Home security is a basic component of crime prevention. If a burglar needs more than one or two minutes to break into a home, chances are he will leave for fear of being seen or of making too much noise. Although there is no guarantee against break-ins, the Beaverton Police Department offers free home security surveys to residents to reduce their chances of victimization.
Home Security Surveys
Trained police volunteers will conduct home security surveys and make safety recommendations at no cost to all Beaverton residents living in a single house dwelling.

While these security precautions do not guarantee that a house will not be broken into, studies have shown that even minimal security measures can reduce your chances of being victimized.
